Gustaf Eriksson runs Boberg Storgård, a large-scale egg production farm with 63,000 free-range laying hens. The farm also engages in crop cultivation on 250 hectares, growing wheat, oats, rapeseed, peas, and field beans. Most of the crops are used for in-house production of chicken feed.
Gustaf’s business concept is to produce high-quality eggs for human consumption. A crucial aspect of this is having an efficient feed production system, which is where Tornum and the construction of a grain drying facility come into play. The drying capacity of the old facility was too low, and grain transport was partly carried out using tractors. The process simply took too much time. However, with Tornum’s new drying facility, which includes new conveyors and a larger grain dryer, feed production becomes efficient and complete.
The drying facility includes:
- Double batch dryer TS3 42.5 m³
- Unloading bin 80.6 m³
- Unloading bin 101.2 m³
- Self-emptying storage bin 84.4 m³
- Self-emptying storage bin 97.4 m³
- Drying house
- Tipping pit 27 m³
- Heating unit 700 kW
“The first contact with Tornum’s salesperson felt just right. Tornum has reliable logistics throughout the company, and I trust them. I simply wanted to have complete confidence in those building my new facility, and I gained that trust with Tornum.”
